Growing up in upstate NY in an earth-bermed solar thermal house AJ developed an appreciation for design and sustainability from his father at an early age. He is an award winning Architect with a portfolio of work including single and multi-family housing, large-scale commercial and academic facilities, masterplanning, mixed-use and adaptive reuse projects. He believes that architecture should produce simple, beautiful and functional solutions for complex human needs. AJ received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and is a Registered Architect in the State of Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Texas and Pennsylvania.
Michael Brahler | Registered Architect | Founding Partner
Having over thirty-four years of experience in the profession, Michael has gained firsthand knowledge of all phases of the building process, from site selection through construction administration and for a wide range of project types. Michael has a passion for design and an ability to synthesize client’s objectives into great architecture. Michael earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the Boston Architectural College where concurrent professional employment and academic coursework create a more complete, holistic education. Michael is a recurring architectectural studio critic at Roger Williams University.
Banu Ataman | Registered Architect
Banu Ataman brings over 18 years of experience across a wide range of projects. Her previous work includes high-end single, multi-family and mixed-use projects throughout Los Angeles County. Since her move to the East Coast, she's expanded her portfolio with multiple student housing projects in the Philadelphia and Camden areas as well as upstate NY, acting as Project Lead Manager on several. Banu earned her bachelor's degree in environmental design and interior architecture from Bilkent University in Turkey and earned a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture. She is a Registered Architect in the states of Colorado and Pennsylvania.
She grew up in Ankara Turkey, is fluent in German and English, and now lives in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Jordan Keller | Registered Architect
Jordan graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of architecture degree in 2015. As a student, he studied off-campus in Chicago and Switzerland where he broadened his innate appreciation for the built environment and the important role that space plays in bringing people together. Jordan has experience with a wide variety of project types, from large multi-family projects with hundreds of units to boutique renovations. Jordan especially enjoys the collaborative side of the design process and seeing projects through from design to construction where architect, engineer, owner, contractor, craftsperson and many others work as a team to bring a project to life.
Kristina Labs | Architectural Administrator
Kristina is a German native and graduated from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands with a master of European Public Administration and brings over 3 years of experience in architectural administration. With a solid understanding of the ins and outs of architectural projects, Kristina manages schedules, coordinates projects and documentation plus she makes sure that the team has everything to stay on track. In her free time she likes to spend time with her 7-year old son, exploring new countries, singing in the choir plus she enjoys the outdoors.
Anne Royandoyan, NOMA | Architectural Staff
Anne is currently pursuing a 2+4 Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Sustainability in the Built Environment at Drexel University. She balances work and evening classes while actively engaging with the Drexel chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMAS) and PhilaNOMA.Originally from the Philippines and now residing in Philadelphia, Anne’s diverse experiences have given her passion for architecture. She is dedicated to designing meaningful projects that reflect her appreciation for community engagement and diverse cultures. Anne thrives on learning–whether it’s about design or exploring new hobbies, she embraces every opportunity to expand her knowledge.
Sochi | Office Canine
Rescued with her sister along the Sochi River in Russia, she provides the studio needed levity, is deathly afraid of large bodies of water and is the official welcome-wagon to visitors. Though she has the sweetest of dispositions, she has been known to kill flies and crickets.
