This custom-built modernist home (built in 1977) had all of the elements for a designer home - floor to ceiling windows in many of the rooms, an emphasis on indoor-outdoor relationship to its 3 acre wooded setting - all of the elements were there, except the kitchen. WIth poor organization and lack of storage, the kitchen was inefficient and cluttered. OOMBRA’s proposal for this single family home included reformatting the kitchen and dining area to include an updated layout, increased storage, and open views to the outdoors through additional glazing, lending the heart of the family home the design attention it deserved.
