This proposal envisions a mixed-use tower with 360 degree unobstructed views of the downtown and surrounding mountains, embracing the opportunity to create a destination that brings people to one of the tallest timber buildings in the US. Mass timber structures are lighter than steel and concrete, which allows them to have lighter foundations, but they also have an aesthetic quality and inherent beauty, especially in residential spaces that tends to increase marketability. Studies have shown that occupants of timber buildings are less stressed, more productive and generally feel healthier and happier.
