A sloping site overlooking the Schuylkill River, East Falls Bridge and Philadelphia's skyline, this mixed-use residential building gently steps up the hill with the site creating unique outdoor terraces with views of the beautiful surrounding landscape. Our approach was to tread lightly and 'get out of the way' of the site, allowing the building to naturally climb the site along Merrick Road while maintaining a soft edge of landscape to follow Ridge Avenue back up the hill to the west. An urban corner provides a node point for the commercial retail space and a resting point on your journey along the Schuylkill River Trail.
